12:42 pm - Sex Workers Outreach Project

axfxn
Hello ladies!!!

I'm posting to inform you of an organization for sex workers. Ever heard of SWOP? It's the Sex Workers Outreach Project. (www.swopusa.org)(www.facebook.com/group.php) At it’s most basic, is an anti-violence campaign, addressing the violence that sex workers experience because of their marginalized and/or criminal status.  Sex workers are seldom afforded protection or recourse from violent acts committed against them because of the precarious, often graft-ridden relationship between sex work and law enforcement. Society tolerates violence against sex workers because of stigma and myths. Only until these falsehoods are corrected and sex work is  legitimized will we be able to effectively prevent and minimize the challenges of sex work.

There are chapters all over the country and are really great. Boston, MA just opened the newest chapter, and we are looking for members! (swopboston.wordpress.com)(www.facebook.com/group.php) If you live in the Boston area and are interested in joining, shoot me a PM or comment with your email address and I'll get in contact with you about joining!

If you live elsewhere and would like to join a chapter local to you, check out the website for more info!

Hope to be hearing from you!

-Andrew

Hi,

I just recently started working as a phone sex operator and I really love it. But I'm still having trouble in one major area.

How do I get them to speak up? Sometimes I just absolutely cannot hear them, and I try telling them that I can't understand them because their voice is so soft, and then they just end up hanging up- which drives my hold time down and reduces my paycheck.

What do you guys do to get them to speak so you can understand them? TIA. :)

Hello.

I am 20-years-old. Well, I turn 20 Friday. I'm in my second year of college and I am coming short on my money for college. I'm transferring colleges.

I want to get involved in modeling. I do not want to do sexual scenes yet. Mostly, I am still a virgin and I've never kissed; I'm really innocent. I've never had a relationship. I am fairly attractive for my size, BBW. I'm 5'2 - somewhere between 220 - 230 - 18/20 - 40DD.

I really enjoy the idea of www.alt.com. I've always thought I was a weird for having an advanced sexuality from my peers. I am scared to death of my friends finding out, as well. I'm really naive personality and I can trust anyone.

Anyway, I want to get involved in the term "porngraphy" so I can still attend college and get a good career one day. I've given up on my dream of being a politican because I never thought I would become so desperate in needing money... :-(

Anyway, I posted my resume on www.sexyjobs.com explaining what I do want and I got two contacts back.

I need tips on safety. I need to learn about this business quickly, where and how to start. Please help me!

10:25 pm - Desivio
scarletwoman I learned about this via The Stranger: someone in Seattle has created a Craig's list clone called Desivio. It's not very active as yet but it has categories for several cities. Erotic Service ads are free.

I'm not sure how it will work out but thought it would be good to throw out here.

3:33 pm - Safety Measures

thatwontheal
So I'm new to the community and thought I'd introduce myself.  I'm Cora, a 22 year old BBW service provider.  I've been working for about 3 years now.  I'm trying to avoid burnout by developing a sense of community in my life, even if it's a virtual one.  It's also good to have someone to ask questions of.

First Question:  What basic measures do you take to protect yourself [from clients and law enforcement]?  I know there's never a surefire way, but I'd like to hear what steps other providers take.

xoxo, Cora

Hey Ladies!!!

I am an aspiring BBW sex worker.  I have been very interested in BDSM.  I was approached today by someone who wants to be a client.  Now I don't know what to do?  How do I know this guy isn't going to pull some funny business?  I know nothing about what to charge, what to wear ( is it always latex, leather, and heels?)

Will ya'll ladies be as so kind as to school me?

P.S.

I am 5'6'' and 185lbs.  Does that make me a BBW?

infiniteblue25
Looking for free hosting for pro-domme ads/websites.. something liek rare escorts but for Dominas.... Ive been using craigslist but the contact to appoinment ratio is like 30/1. Its ridiculous. looking for some Free or inexpensive advertising venues. Also possibly looking for a house to work in in los Angeles or orange county. I'm dominant in my personal life as well so I have the basics covered but would love some further training and networking advice. Thanks

12:51 pm - New to group

sweetloulou
I just joined this group today and I thought it right to introduce myself. I am a 27 yr. old female alt. adult model and an adult talent scout. A fellow BBW, but I just like to consider myself a sexy curvy babe.

If you are a DD or above bust size I have an adult job that you can apply for, you can take your own pictures and you will get paid for the pics right away. This is a legit company that I scout for, please email me for more details.

My email sosweetloulou@yahoo.com, if you email me, please let me know what it is about. I get emails from fans and people looking for adult jobs as well.

If you are interested in my adult site, let me know, it's going to launch hopefully real soon. Thanks.

8:09 pm - Calling all sex workers

sea_of_pain
I am a 21 year old, female college student in lower michigan. i am looking to interview sex workers for an assignment. I am looking to interview female and male prostitutes who have been in the profession for at least 4 months (Doesn’t matter if it is your sole source of income or not.) I will not ask for or use your real name. I am not looking for a “guide” to get into the business and I will make no attempt to condemn you or your profession.
Ideally this interview would be conducted in person. You may choose the time and the place. I do understand the risks and if a face to face meeting is impossible I understand.
If you have any questions or you are willing to help me out please respond as soon as possible because I’ll have to begin working soon.

6:11 pm - Introduction

mal_est_belle
*waves*

Bonjour all... I figured I might as well do something by way of an introduction. My name is Jeanette (though I go by a variety of nick names). I am 31 and currently living in Eureka, CA, though I hope to relocate soon.

I am not in the sex worker trade currently, but I hope to soon work closely in the fringes. I am a photographer who has grown tired of conventional commercial work. I want to do fetish work and alternative erotica. As a BBW, I would especially like to work with BBW models.

So I'll start with my first question(s)... where is a good place to look for both models and clients of such work? Do the web sites provide photographers or are the model's expect their own? For those of you who work with photographers, what is the going rate for print work in this genre?

Hi everyone. I'm looking to get into adult modeling, and I also want to get started in private photo shoots for individuals. I'm a little lost though. How much do I charge? Do I charge a price per photo or do I tell them a price and say that gets them X number of photos? How does this whole thing usually work in general? The pictures would be self-shot, but good quality and I am pretty good with a camera. Any help is appreciated!

8:12 pm - CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

pinupfemme

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Hi everyone!
We're starting to organize the 5th annual Sex Workers' Art Show Tour, and we're looking for artists and performers to contribute!

THE SHOW:
The Sex Workers' Art Show is a cabaret-style evening of visual and performance art created by people who work in the sex industry to dispel the myth that we are anything short of artists, innovators, and geniuses! The artwork and performances offer a wide range of perspectives on sex work. The show hopes through its diversity of viewpoints to move beyond "positive" and "negative" into a fuller articulation of the complicated ways sex workers experience our jobs and our lives. You can read more about the show at www.sexworkersartshow.com.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Sex trade workers are in a unique position to observe the freaky dynamics of capitalism, desire, ownership, gender, and race. We are looking for hilarious, disturbing, challenging, entertaining, accessible work that addresses these issues. Or, you know, whatever else. Please jesus no artless literalism or speeches. We're interested in a range of mediums- spoken word, burlesque, music and performance art of all kinds; as well as all manner of visual art.

THE DEAL:
The tour is happening early Feb through early March 2006. It hits approximately 26 cities nationwide. Venues will be varied, from small clubs and galleries to large theaters and college campuses. We'll be traveling in two new vans, staying in hotels. There will be eight performers, a technical director and road crew along. Pay is $3000/performer, plus lodging, transportation to the first show and home from the last, and occasional meals. Staff will be provided to sell performers' merchandise.

SUBMITTING:
People who are working or have worked in the sex industry are invited to submit any kind of visual or performance art. Pieces should be no more than 12 minutes long. Please email info@sexworkersartshow.com for more information. Work must be submitted by September 8th.

Thanks everyone! Please spread the word and forward this!

9:16 pm - The Hidden Chamber

beatgoddess
A dear friend of mine is thinking about doing pro-Domme work as an adjunct to grad school. She's thinking about joining the staff at The Hidden Chamber of NYC.

I wouldn't want anyone I loved to work somewhere unsafe, sketchy, scuzzy, or simply sucky, so do any of you have the 411 on this place? Any horror stories, any good stories? I would really appreciate any feedback you may have.

I'd also be interested in hearing of any other reputable, excellent, safe, or otherwise monetarily-fruitful pro-Domme sites of employment in New York City. Though I'm not asking explicitly for referrals, they'd be as welcome as any other input. If you're not comfortable leaving comments here, please do feel free to email me (email on userinfo page). I dearly appreciate your help.

Thank you,

G. of B.

12:56 am - Questions galore

ccconfident
Hi, I'm new here. Never thought that there could exist communities like this, really cool. Do you know of any other communities for bbw workers, outside livejournal?

I'm 22 and I've been working for 3 years - on and off. I'm really, happy about it, and it helps me to be able to finance my education. I got some questions, if you have the time... :)

1. Do you keep a journal of some sorts, with info about your clients? If yes, what do you write and has it come in handy? I'm a lazy, lazy girl, so I haven't done that before... But maybe I should have, because I do have a handful of regulars (regulars are those I've seen 20 and more times), and it would probably be good to read up on what they seemed to like. Of course it's pretty normal to write down phone numbers etc., but I'm talking about details like "he loved that, he seemed annoyed when I did that" etc.

2. How do you get people to come back? With new clients, I always say something like "I hope to see you again" and then I smile like a mad(wo)man. But I'm getting tired of that line.

3. What do you wear, when you have new clients that hasn't told much about their likes and dislikes?

4. Your voicemail, the welcome message. What do you say? I say something like "Hi, this is ***, thanks for calling! This week, I'm working monday from 4pm to 3am monday through friday (example)." ... and then I say something about when they can reach me on the phone. I need something extra, I need something special.

Anyways, happy to be here :)
